a first post

A first post.  The pressure is on.  How to write a post that’s going to attract the masses and catapult my blog over the rainbow and into the pot of gold at the end.

So I thought and I thought some more and I even thought some more.  Then I realised that whilst I was doing a lot of thinking, I wasn’t actually doing a lot of writing, and so I decided to just put pen to paper, or in this new technological world I have dipped my toes into, fingers to keyboard and write something.  However, having made the very free spirited decision to just type away, I needed something to actually type about.  What is my blog going to be about?  Me, I suppose.  But is that incredibly self-centred? Am I that interesting or important that people will actually want to read about my life?  So, I did put pen to paper, this time, in a pre blog brainstorm kind of fashion, and this is what I came up with:

sewing, crafting, being a (newish) wife, being a (newish) mummy, crabbkins (my newish business)

And then I realised, another thing!, that everything is kind of newish, so maybe I should have just called my blog “a newish life” but everything that is newish in my life has a connection to thing that precedes it and why Ive ended up where I am right now.  At the heart of it I love sewing and crafting.  I got engaged and went wedding sewing and crafting mad, then I became pregnant and went baby sewing and crafting mad.  Then I found I had a little bit of time inbetween baby feeds and sleeps, washing, ironing and cooking and decided that Id actually rather like to start a little cottage industry and so crabbkins was born.  As this takes the place of last newish thing to happen in my life, I suppose it deserves to win the title of my newish kind of blog.
